Someone is always watching

Over the years when my parents were sick I watched them sleep in chairs by each others side in the hospital. Cots and recliners weren’t always available. One time my dad slept in the waiting room because no visitors were allowed to stay on the unit. I watched my mom learn how to pack and unpack a wound when my dad had his kidney transplant. She took care of him through numerous surgeries. They took care of each other. So no I don’t know how to go home and sleep when I know my mom isn’t feeling well. She’s been sleeping for almost three hours but I can’t leave her. They never left me or each other.

Someone is always watching. Caregiver you may not know it but you are teaching someone how to care for the people they love. It could be a family member, a worker at the doctors office or grocery store you frequent.

Psalms 119:76

May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.

I'm telling my story because there was no one in my circle of friends that had ever been in my shoes and I felt alone. I'm also telling my story to encourage and inspire someone that is beginning the toughest season of their life, going through the storm or coming out on the other side. You are stronger than you know.
